What is the New Normal?
What is the New Normal? No one really knows, but in humankind it is during the worst events of history, great leaders emerge. Do you want to be one of them? The story of our modern age is now between written by others. Why aren’t you helping to write it? I’m a pilot, when things go bad, the first thing you do is take care of yourself. Typically that means putting your oxygen mask on (depending on the nature of the emergency). Are you treating this time as an emergency? Or, are you going to Emerge and See.
Are you part of the problem ? Or the Solution? Now is a really good time to “take stock”. Now is a really good time for introspection and action. Acting through kindness, Caring, Loving, Helping.
That is how “the New Normal” story should be written.
I have always enjoyed Jeffrey Gitomer’s books, he wrote the “Little Red Book” of Sales. Which I would argue is one of the best Sales books ever written. I’ve followed him on Facebook for a while, but to be quite honest I never really paid attention to what people do live on Facebook until the pandemic hit. Even after it hit, I would see Jeff’s Live broadcast pop up on my feed and typically ignore it.
Then one day, I was sitting at my computer doing some web development work, enjoying my morning coffee, and I thought, ” heck I’ll go over and see what Jeff is doing Live “, because I’ve seen a lot of his videos on Youtube about Sales and Leadership, but I had never really seen him during a live broadcast. So over I went to his Live broadcast, which he does every day at 10:59 eastern day light time (promptly)…..
” Even if his Ass is about to fall Off “……..ha ha ha
I was going through a lot that day. My Uncle had recently died of Covid 19 and I was broken-hearted. I was having trouble sleeping. Our family could not even come together and mourn together, cry together, remember together. I hadn’t laughed, maybe even smiled for days. I had been working on a project that took up almost every waking hour of my time and hours and hours into the night, and I was physically tired, mentally exhausted and very very sad.
When I saw Jeff’s broadcast very shortly, I was laughing, and smiling and so moved by the little army of positive minded people that Jeff is assembling. That’s when Jeff mentioned his ” New Normal Course “. So I went over to his page to check it out. Only the best salesman in the world could pull off a line like
” Don’t be a Cheap Bastard, just go buy the course “… ha ha ha
So I did.
I’ll never forget what Jeff did for me that day. I know it’s not easy to go Live every single day. I’m not sure I could pull that off. I prefer recording my videos and editing them, and then typically discarding them, because I don’t think they’re good enough. I’ve always admired people who can speak extemporaneously, and get their point across in a way that impacts people. It’s a quality I would like to develop. I’m probably going to learn how to do that in the New Normal Course. Jeff is putting in more and more content all the time, Jeff is a “Giver“.
Trust me I know how expensive video production is, and creating a course of the magnitude like Jeff has done, is quite literally EPIC. Whatever the price is now, just get in the course. I’m sure he splits up the payments and it’s totally worth it. It’s also worth it to be connected to like-minded highly motivated sales professionals who you can learn and grow from.
How do you become great ? You find the greatest people in the world, watch them, listen to them, emulate them. Weave in all those lessons in your own way and EMERGE. A Winner, Not a Whiner (or a Wiener). ha ha
